Some time ago I was given an extraordinary butterfly collection. You could call it a little unsorted. For more than two years, a biologist had collected the deceased specimens from the butterfly house she cares for for an interested professor.
When I visited the Butterfly House and told the lady about my collages, she bequeathed me this adventurous collection. Her friend, the professor, had sadly passed away in the meantime and could not accept the many beautiful specimens.
I am very happy about this exciting miracle bag, already a bit moth-eating…
… with its magnificent content! It unfolded after hours of awe-inspiringly sorting the very light surprises and freeing them from moth-eating. Each wing is a work of art in its own right.
… and of course for me a great opportunity for new collages – more will follow.
The wing is original, taken from this exotic collection. Every butterfly has reached its natural end of life. The butterfly body painted, the child drawn and glued. Availability on request.
